The new Internet Explorer 9 includes many new features, including a Popular Sites page that presents a nice looking list of your most viewed pages. Here is a step by step way to remove or delete that option.
Alongwith various new features, Internet Explorer 9 includes a list of most popular site’s page. The mostly visited sites will automatically be added to that list and will be available in a tile view on a new tab page of IE9.
Earlier versions of Internet Explorer provide just only a blank white page. But in IE-9 Microsoft includes a new feature to enhance it’s usefulness. A maximum number of 10 most frequently visited websites are displayed on the new tab page. It let you quickly access the websites by clicking on the link of the new tab page.
This feature is very much obsolete because without having to open favorites/bookmarks or without typing any web-address in the address bar one can easily access any website. However as far as privacy issue is concerned, some IE users dislike this IE feature and want the feature to be disabled. No need to disable IE for that issue.
Here is a simple trick so that you can easily hide or remove those tiles from new tab page of IE 9.
You can hide those sites by clicking the “Hide Sites” option. But in order to remove those tiles you need to change that page. Here is how to change it.
Click the Gear like Icon (Tools) from the top right section of the address bar and go to “Internet Options“.
Alternatively press ‘Alt’ button to reveal menu bar. Then navigate to Tools >> Internet Options.
Under Tabs section, click on Settings button (See the Screen-Shot below).
croll down to find “When a new tab is opened, open:” option. From the dropdown menu choose either a blank page or Your First Home Page option.
Click Ok to apply changes.
For better output in search results you can make Google as a default search by replacing Bing in IE 9.
